Naga

Wrapped in my coils, I carry the world
in figures of eight.
Beyond time,
beyond space,
beyond strife —
nirvana elusive.

Born into mud, I soak up the sun.
Storms scrape my skin,
hail pounds my husk,
droughts drain me dry.

My breaths measured,
my movements constrained,
my heart broken,
I glimpse life —

understand
and ascend.

Wise Words

“The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise.”
