And reminiscing of any kind is always better if there's someone around to share your memories with. (You know where/how to find me if -you- need someone to share memories with in the weeks to come... *hugs*) ...my grandmother and one of her sisters were quite unusual for their time. In the late 20ies and the 30ies they had their own businesses (my great-aunt was a seamstress and a mastercraftswoman), went on trips to the sea and to the mountains, hung out with artists and singers, wore trousers (!)... ...and then came Hitler and the war, and everything went kaputt. :-/ Afterwards, as refugees, I think they became rather bitter and withdrawn, turning to religion. I’ve had a lot of fun going through old stuff this afternoon. And reminiscing of any kind is always better if there’s someone around to share your memories with.
